Perhilitan captures  panther

SEREMBAN: A male panther weighing about 50kg was captured after it wandered into a trap set by the Negri Sembilan Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) in Kuala Pilah.

State Perhilitan director Faizal Izham Pikri said the department received a report at 9pm on Friday that the animal had entered the trap, which had been in place for more than two weeks.

“Upon inspection, we found the adult male panther to be healthy with no signs of injury,” he said in a statement yesterday, Bernama reported.

Faizal said the animal was later released into a forest reserve far from human settlements.
