MetMalaysia issues tropical depression advisory near Dungun


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) today issued an advisory for a tropical depression detected at latitude 4.8 north and longitude 106.8 east, about 377 kilometres (km) northeast of Dungun, Terengganu.

MetMalaysia, in a statement, said that the storm was moving east-northeast at a speed of 15 kilometres per hour (km/h), with maximum sustained winds of 56 km/h.

The department added that these conditions may generate strong winds and rough seas over the South China Sea. - Bernama
