Storm Senyar uproots two trees and causes minor landslide in Negri

SEREMBAN: Several minor incidents were reported in Negri Sembilan following continuous rain and strong winds caused by tropical storm Senyar.

The Fire and Rescue Department said there were at least two incidents of uprooted trees and a minor landslip reported in the past few hours.

In the first incident, just after 3am, a tree uprooted near the Aeon Mall in Seremban 2 and blocked the road.

"A 61-year-old motorcyclist crashed into the tree and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

"In another incident around the same time near the Ehsan Sea View hotel in Port Dickson, another tree fell on a parked car, but no victims were reported," said a spokesman.

He said the department also received another report of a minor landslip behind two houses in Taman Bukit Berlian near here around 4am.

"There were six victims who have been asked to temporarily evacuate while we monitor the situation," he added.

Meanwhile, two temporary relief centres have been opened in Port Dickson this morning (Nov 28) to house flood victims.

A Civil Defense Force spokesman said 23 victims from nine families were moved to a relief centre in Permatang Pasir and another 70 victims from 10 families were now putting up at SK Jimah.
