Perak flood victim count rises to 4,345 as evacuations continue


IPOH: The number of flood victims in Perak rose to 4,345 as of 8am on Wednesday (Nov 26), up from 4,221 at 6am.

A state disaster management committee spokesman said 1,378 families are at 43 temporary relief centres across eight districts.

The affected districts are Larut, Matang and Selama, Manjung, Perak Tengah, Bagan Datuk, Kuala Kangsar, Batang Padang, Hilir Perak and Muallim.

Manjung recorded the highest number with 1,830 evacuees from 545 families housed at 15 centres.

Perak Tengah has 846 victims from 274 families relocated in nine temporary centres.

In Hilir Perak, 681 victims from 220 families are placed in six temporary centres.

Bagan Datuk has 598 individuals from 197 families at four temporary centres.

In Muallim, 167 individuals from 48 families are in three temporary centres.

In Larut, Matang and Selama, 152 individuals from 52 families are in four temporary centres.

In Kuala Kangsar, 68 individuals from 41 families are in one temporary centre.

In Batang Padang, three individuals from one family are in one temporary centre.
