Pintasan Saloma water surge: Missing man found drowned


KUALA LUMPUR: The body of a man who was swept away in a water surge incident on the Klang River near the Pintasan Saloma (Saloma Link) here on Monday (Nov 17) has been found.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Sazalee Adam confirmed the matter when contacted on Friday (Nov 21).

"He has been found," he said briefly.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the body of the drowned man was found at a rubbish catchment area along Sungai Kandis.

"The body was confirmed to be that of the (water surge) victim along Pintasan Saloma in Kuala Lumpur.

"It has been handed over to the police for further action," he said.

The incident, which occurred at about 5.30pm on Monday, also involved 11 others trapped under a bridge.

The others were successfully rescued by the Fire and Rescue Department.

A four-wheel-drive vehicle was also carried off in the incident, but it was found on Wednesday (Nov 19) by the search and rescue team.
