Two men killed in MPV-truck crash on North-South Expressway near Juru


GEORGE TOWN: Two men in an MPV were killed after their vehicle collided with a truck late at night while travelling on the North-South Expressway near Juru on Wednesday (Nov 19).

The deceased, identified as driver Mohamad Nizar Abdul Rahman, 32, and passenger Muhammad Fakhrur Razi Usri, 31, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Firemen were alerted to the incident at about 11.22pm and rushed to the scene, where they had to extricate both victims from the wreckage.

The impact left the vehicle nearly completely crumpled, with much of its structure crushed.

The driver of the lorry carrying fruits, Ismail Che Dat, 37, did not sustain any injuries.

The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
