MELAKA: A 26-year-old businessman was killed when his sports car collided with a bus travelling from the opposite direction along Jalan Krubong–Sungai Badau.

Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit identified the victim as Chong Chee Tong from Taman Ozana Impian.

He said Chong died at the scene following the 8am crash on Sunday (November 16) adding the impact left the sports car severely damaged, while the 34-year-old bus driver sustained minor injuries.

ACP Christopher said the sports car was heading towards Krubong Perdana when the driver lost control and rammed into the bus travelling on the opposite lane.

He added the bus was en route to the Melaka Sentral bus terminal and could not avoid the collision and there were no passengers on board at the time.

ACP Christopher said preliminary checks showed clear weather and a dry road surface.

He added the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
