Bones believed to be human skeletal remains found on Lekas


NILAI: Bones believed to be human skeletal remains were found on a hill slope at KM24.5 northbound of the Kajang-Seremban Expressway (Lekas) here recently.

Nilai OCPD Supt Abdul Malik Hashim said a report was received at 11.35am on Nov 2 from highway cleaning workers, who discovered what was believed to be an incomplete human skeletal remains at the site.

"Initial investigations at the scene uncovered a cluster of bones believed to be human.

"No identification documents were found, and the victim's identity has yet to be determined. Further inspection of the scene showed no signs of criminal activity," he said in a statement here on Saturday (Nov 8).

Supt Abdul Malik said that there were no new leads, and the case exhibits have been forwarded to the forensic laboratory for analysis.

He urged those who have lost family members or friends, or who may have information on the incident, to come forward and help with the investigation by contacting the Mantin Police Station at 06-7581222, or Insp Mohd Syafiq Azmy at 018-2247743. – Bernama
