Thunderstorms expected in three states until 1am


KUALA LUMPUR: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected in several areas in Terengganu, Pahang and Sarawak until 1 am, Wednesday (NNov 4).

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), in a statement, said the warning covers Kemaman (Terengganu), as well as Jerantut, Maran, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin (Pahang).

In Sarawak, the areas likely to be affected are Serian, Samarahan (Simunjan), Mukah, Bintulu, Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri and Marudi) and Limbang.

MetMalaysia issues these warnings when thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm per hour are imminent or expected to last more than an hour.
