SME tax refunds taking too long, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: Small and medium enterprises have complained that the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) is taking too long to return excess tax payments, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong (pic).

The Ayer Hitam MP said he raised the issue during Monday's (Nov 3) Special Chamber session, including concerns about the refund method that is increasingly burdening taxpayers.

"Most citizens especially in the SMEs have complained that the return of excess tax by LHDN is taking too long," Dr Wee said in a Facebook post uploaded on Tuesday (Nov 4).

"In yesterday's Special Chamber, I raised this issue including in relation to the method of excess tax return (refund) that is increasingly burdening taxpayers," he said.
