GEORGE TOWN: The final day of Star Karnival Cuti-Cuti Malaysia saw exhibitors roll out jaw-dropping discounts and special deals at Gurney Paragon Mall.
Visitors thronged the booths to grab last-minute travel packages, hotel stays, and local tour promotions, with some exhibitors slashing prices by up to 50%.
Early birds were seen comparing the domestic travel packages and prices of other packages amid a carnival atmosphere.
Lotus Desaru Beach Resort & Spa sales manager Rohayat Din said the five-star resort is offering a special one-time promotion, with room rates priced at only RM250 inclusive of breakfast for two.
“Guests who make their purchase today (Nov 2) will also enjoy complimentary entry to the water park for two,” she said.
She said those who make their purchase on the final day of the Penang carnival will be able to redeem their stay within six months.
Guests can also visit attractive locations near the hotel, such as Johor Premium Outlet and Legoland, just to name a few.
Similarly, the TOP Komtar is offering special deals for visitors on the final day of the carnival.
Sales manager Sharifah Che Mat Din said visitors can enjoy the fun-filled theme park under the Top Super Saver package at just RM88 for adults and RM58 for children.
“The usual price is RM118 for adults and RM88 for children, but this special offer is valid only for today. Those who purchase it can redeem their tickets anytime within one year,” she said.
Besides hotels and theme parks, handicraft items were also offered at discounted prices during the final day of the carnival.
Among the exhibitors was Anna Ong Basket from Sarawak, which offered 20% off its range of handmade woven bags crafted from recycled materials resembling rattan.
Co-founder Randy Yong said the bags, priced between RM180 and RM350, are made by single mothers in Sarawak and Selangor.
“These bags are entirely handmade using eco-friendly materials and are suitable for women to carry to functions or casual outings,” he said.
Visitors looking for a unique relaxation experience can try Xuri Ancient from Taiping Business Park, which offers an exclusive two-hour Premium Bath Tub package for only RM169 on the final day of the carnival.
Co-founder Ong Kim Hong said customers who bring along a companion will receive an additional RM10 discount.
“The session includes an AI body analysis, body mass check, eye mask therapy with herbal tea, detox circulation, and a herbal bath,” she said.
Ong added that visitors who signed up today also received a complimentary handmade car scent as a special gift.
The three-day event, which began on Friday (Oct 31), features 54 exhibitors, including travel agencies, hotels, resorts, theme parks, tourist attractions, and homestays, among others.
Held from 31 October to 2 November 2025, the Penang edition is part of the nationwide campaign that previously took place in Kuantan, the Klang Valley and Sarawak.
With the tagline “Explore. Experience. Excite.”, this collaboration between Tourism Malaysia and Star Media Group aims to reignite interest in domestic travel and foster community participation through cultural experiences that strengthen the nation’s domestic tourism.
The next edition of Star Karnival Cuti-Cuti Malaysia will be at Paradigm Mall Convention Centre from Nov 7 to Nov 9.
The launching of the event will be held at 12pm on Nov 8.
