China gives commitment to expediting South China Sea code of conduct, says Khaled

KUALA LUMPUR: China has given its commitment to expedite the development of the code of conduct for the South China Sea, says Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.

“Once again, China has given its commitment to expedite the completion of the code of conduct. We believe that if it is agreed upon, then it could lead to some good in dealing with issues within the South China Sea,” the Defence Minister said at a press conference after the Asean Defence Ministers' Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus) on Saturday (Nov 1).

On Friday (Oct 31), the code of conduct was among the initiatives approved by the ADMM.
