Negri Ruler revokes UKM chairman's 'Datuk' title


SEREMBAN: The Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir has decreed the revocation of a state award which carries the title "Datuk" awarded to Prof Emeritus Dr Mohamad Abd Razak.

Registrar of Orders Datuk Mohd Zafir Ibrahim said the decree took immediate effect.

"The Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negri Sembilan has decreed the revocation of Darjah Dato' Setia Negri Sembilan or DSNS awarded to Prof Emeritus Dr Mohamed Abd Razak in 2004 with immediate effect.

"This decision has been made to preserve the dignity and honour of the Royal Insitution in Negri Sembilan," he said in a statement.

Prof Dr Mohamad is the chairman of the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia board of directors and former Malaysian Orthopaedic Association president.
