Unemployed 57-year-old nabbed for attacking wife, daughter with sharp object


SIBU: A 57-year-old unemployed man has been detained after allegedly attacking his wife and daughter with a sharp object in their home in Jalan Permai Jaya here on Wednesday (Oct 29) morning.

The woman, 46, is in critical condition with injuries on her neck and body and has been admitted to the intensive care unit at Sibu Hospital.

Her daughter, meanwhile, sustained cuts on her elbow and head.

Sibu OCPD Asst Comm Zulkipli Suhaili said that after the 6am incident, the suspect had fled on a motorcycle towards Kanowit, where he was arrested at about 4.15pm.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt with a dangerous weapon.
