Investigation paper on cops who molested student submitted to DPP


KUALA LUMPUR: The investigation involving three policemen, who were nabbed for allegedly molesting and extorting a female student, has been completed.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Fadil Marsus said the investigation paper was referred to the deputy public prosecutor on Tuesday (Oct 28).

“We have recommended that the trio be charged under Section 354 and 384 of the Penal Code (for assaulting with the intent to outrage modesty and extortion).

“We are now awaiting further instructions from the DPP,” he said when contacted.

Comm Fadil added that the investigation was being conducted concurrently with a disciplinary probe into the three policemen.

"They are only allowed to perform desk duties and not in the field pending the decision from the DPP," he said.

In the incident which occurred in September, the female victim and her boyfriend were allegedly cornered by three policemen along Jalan Sentul Pasar.

They allegedly demanded RM10,000 from the victims and threatened to "ruin her life" if she did not have sex with one of the policemen.

The victims lodged a police report following the encounter.
