KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim held a brief bilateral meeting with United States President Donald Trump before he left for Tokyo, Japan, on Monday (Oct 27) morning.
Anwar said the brief meeting gave him an opportunity to review the outcomes of Malaysia-US bilateral discussions held recently.

"(This includes) strategic cooperation in the fields of trade, technology, and regional security and to convey my deep appreciation to Trump for his instrumental role in advancing the KL Peace Accord and the Gaza Peace plan," Anwar said in a Facebook post.
Anwar noted that the Kuala Lumpur Peace Accord between Cambodia and Thailand, as well as the Gaza Peace Plan, serve as beacons of hope for achieving a just and lasting peace.
Trump departed from Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Air Force One at 10.06am.
On the sidelines of the 47th Asean Summit, Trump and Anwar witnessed the signing of the KL Peace Accord.

The agreement also established an Asean observer team to monitor peace efforts and ensure long-term stability in the border regions.
On Monday, Malaysia and the United States also inked the Agreement on Reciprocal Tariffs and a memorandum of understanding on critical minerals.
Malaysia was Trump’s first stop in his first Asian tour during his second term as President.
He will travel to Tokyo and then to South Korea to attend the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) summit that begins on Oct 28.
