Anwar arrives for 47th Asean Leaders Summit


KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has arrived at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre for the 47th Asean Leaders Summit.

Dressed in a suit with a maroon tie, the prime minister arrived at 7.53am in a BMW bearing the number plate “Malaysia”.

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and Foreign Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Amran Mohamed Zin welcomed him.

Anwar then welcomed Timor Leste prime minister Xanana Gusmao, who arrived at 7.57am.

Timor Leste is set to become the eleventh member of Asean.
