Man returns home, finds wife and daughter dead


BUKIT MERTAJAM: The bodies of a mother and her daughter, believed to have been murdered, were found in a house in Juru, here on Saturday (Oct 18) night.

Penang police chief Datuk Azizee Ismail, confirmed the incident and said the bodies of the mother and daughter were found by the victim's husband when he returned home around 7.30pm

"The police are still conducting a detailed investigation into the incident, including whether the victims were robbed before being murdered or otherwise. The police forensic team is still at the location conducting further investigations," he said.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

It is understood that the body of the woman, in her 50s, was found in the kitchen on the ground floor of the house, while her 11-year-old daughter was found upstairs in the residence.- Bernama
