Wan Ahmad Fayhsal suspended from Bersatu

SHAH ALAM: The Bersatu supreme leadership council has suspended Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal under Article 22.5 on the party's constitution for one election term, effective on Monday (Oct 13).

According to Sinar Harian, Bersatu Disciplinary Board chairman Datuk Mohd Radzi Manan said the decision was made during a hearing on Oct 8.

According to him, the action was taken as the Machang MP violated Article 9.1.4 of Bersatu's Constitution, which requires members to comply with the Constitution and Code of Ethics and Conduct.

"Please note that with this suspension, the Member of Parliament is automatically stripped of all positions held and cannot make any statement on behalf of the party until the suspension period ends.

"Please also note that the Member of Parliament can submit an appeal to the Appeals Board for consideration within 14 days from the date of this notice," he said in a suspension notice dated on Monday.
