Malaysia, China to hold 'Aman youyi 2025' joint military exercise from Oct 23

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) and China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) will conduct the joint exercise 'Aman Youyi 2025' around Klang, Subang and Puchong in Selangor, as well as in the waters of the Straits of Melaka, from this Wednesday until Oct 23.

In a statement on Monday (Oct 13), the Joint Forces Headquarters said the biennial exercise aims to enhance interoperability between the ATM and PLA.

It also aims to enhance bilateral military relations and readiness to carry out humanitarian and maritime security operations in the region.

"The public, especially residents around the exercise areas, are advised not to be alarmed by the presence of foreign military personnel, the movement of military vehicles or convoys, and any military-related activities taking place from today until the conclusion of the exercise," the statement read. – Bernama
