5,000 visitors targetted to attend national-level Deepavali Madani open house

PUTRAJAYA: The national-level Deepavali Madani Open House 2025 will be held at Lot F, KL Sentral, Kuala Lumpur on Oct 18, targeting an attendance of more than 5,000 visitors.

The Digital Ministry, in a statement on Monday (Oct 13), announced that the event, organised with the support of the National Unity Ministry, will be graced by the presence of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo.

"The event also targets the attendance of more than 5,000 visitors, consisting of ministry staff, industry partners, the local community, and a society of various races and religions,” the statement said.

With the theme "Cahaya Madani, Sinar Perpaduan” (Madani Light, Ray of Unity), the Digital Ministry stated that the event carries the message that light is not only the main symbol of the Deepavali celebration but also represents enlightenment, hope, and the unity of Malaysians within the framework of Malaysia Madani.

"‘Cahaya Madani’ refers to the core values of Malaysia Madani, which are based on compassion, well-being, and humanity.

"‘Sinar Perpaduan’ describes the result of that light, which is a society that is united, harmonious, and mutually respectful,” the statement read.

The National-Level Deepavali Madani Open House 2025 is an annual initiative aimed at promoting the spirit of Malaysia Madani through an inclusive and meaningful approach.

"It serves as a platform to foster unity, mutual respect, and strengthen harmony among races and religions, in line with the government's aspiration to build a society united in diversity,” the statement added.

The Digital Ministry noted that the Deepavali Open House celebration has become a traditional practice at the national and government institutional levels, symbolising Malaysia's pluralism and harmony.

"This year, the Digital Ministry is taking the initiative to make the event a medium for strengthening ties between ministry personnel, digital industry stakeholders, and the local community, in addition to fostering a spirit of togetherness in a festive atmosphere.

"The event will also feature elements of Indian culture such as traditional food, arts performances, and cultural dances that can be shared by all segments of society, reflecting the beauty of the heritage and Madani values translated into daily life,” the statement said. - Bernama
