Budget 2026: RM40bil allocation for nation's security


PETALING JAYA: Over RM40bil will be allocated to security forces to combat crime and maintain the country's security.

A total of RM21.7bill to be allocated to the Defence Ministry, whereas RM21.2bill would be allocated to the Home Ministry.

Also, RM45mil will be allocated to the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency

From the Defence Ministry allocation, RM6bill would be used for the upgrading and purchase of defence assets, including 10 Malbatt vehicles and two multi-role support ships.

For the police and other uniformed bodies, RM1bill would be used to purchase 100 pickup trucks for police operations, four fast patrol vessels for the marine police and a Maritime Surveillance Aircraft for the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA)

At the same time, RM1.5bil would be allocated to upgrade facilities all over the country. Among those listed for upgrades are the MMEA complex in Tok Bali, the Sarawak contingent headquarters and the ICQS Sungai Tujoh in Miri. The allocation will also be used to upgrade the artillery training centre at Kem Syed Sirajuddin in Negri Sembilan.

Three new General Operations Force (GOF) posts will also be built in Sungai Nibong, Sungai Banting and Sekinchan.

More job opportunities will also be offered to Armed Forces veterans from companies awarded contracts by the Defence Ministry via the Protege scheme, and to fill the 220 vacancies by the AKPS.
