Woman killed as two bikes collide on Pasir Gudang Highway


JOHOR BARU: A motorcyclist has been killed after her bike collided with another motorcycle at KM25.8 of the Pasir Gudang Highway.

Seri Alam OCPD Asst Comm Sohaimi Iskhak said the incident happened at 11.10pm on Wednesday (Oct 8).

"The 20-year-old victim, a local woman, lost control of her machine and crashed," he said in a statement on Thursday (Oct 9).

ACP Sohaimi said a 50-year-old Malaysian man on a motorcycle coming from behind was unable to avoid the crashed bike and hit the victim.

"The victim suffered internal injuries and died while being treated at the Sultan Ismail Hospital in Johor Baru," he said, adding that the man sustained minor injuries.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

ACP Sohaimi called on witnesses or those with information on the case to contact the Seri Alam police at 07-386 4222.
