Ensure MyKad and driving licence details tally

PETALING JAYA: Ensure the details on your MyKad and driving licence are identical to enjoy RON95 petrol priced at RM1.99 per litre under the Budi95 rollout, says the Finance Ministry.

It said a cross-analysis with the Transport Ministry revealed that details on some driving licences did not tally with the 12-digit format on MyKad.

Instead, they were found to have outdated numbers, such as those associated with the police, armed forces and even those with old identification card numbers.

Apart from ensuring the licence is still valid, the ministry advised the public to verify that their 12-digit MyKad number is accurately recorded on their driving licence.

It also advised licence holders to ensure their names and vehicle class are indicated clearly on their documents.

For those with differing information on their documents, they are advised to update them with the Road Transport Department.

“The Finance Ministry and Transport Ministry will speed up the data consolidation on a weekly basis to ensure all Malaysians can enjoy subsidised fuel prices under Budi95,” it said.

On a related matter, the ministry said 11.5 million litres of RON95 petrol, priced at RM1.99 per litre under Budi95, had been sold as of Sept 28.

It said the purchases totalled RM22.9mil, showing nearly 500,000 of the 6.1 million Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) recipients, as well as Armed Forces and police personnel, benefitting from the rollout.

It added that 8.6 million users have checked their eligibility for subsidised RON95 petrol prices on the Budi95 portal since its launch on Sept 25.

According to the ministry, the portal has also been equipped to store the transaction history of Budi95 transactions.

Users can access this feature by registering and logging into the portal through their MyDigital ID.

“MyDigital ID is used as a safety measure to preserve a person’s digital identity and personal information on government applications,” said the ministry.

It advised the public to refer to the Frequently Asked Questions section on the official Budi95 portal at www.budimadani.gov.my or contact the helpline at 1-300-88-9595 for further information.
