IPOH: A dialogue session on the Perak 2025 state budget will be held on Tuesday (Sept 30) night, says Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.
The Mentri Besar said the session would involve government agencies, department heads and representatives (wakil rakyat), with opposition assemblymen also being consulted earlier.
"We could not hold it during the day as our schedule is packed.
"At the same time, the Institute Darul Ridzuan (IDR) has gathered feedback from over 4,000 people, including village chiefs, NGOs such as Rukun Tetangga, as well as teachers, students and parents," he told reporters after attending the Mesra Hari Bertemu Pelanggan Programme at Kolej Poly-Tech Mara KPTM on Monday (Sept 29).
He added that IDR was still collecting the input and may present their findings on Tuesday night.
"When we prepare the budget, we want to consider the people’s needs for the coming year.
"Besides the development budget, other areas such as welfare, education and poverty eradication will also be included, based on IDR’s study," he said.
Meanwhile on the programme, Saarani said that about 167 complaints have been received through the programme, covering various issues faced by the people.
Up to the sixth series of the programme, a total of 773 complaints were recorded, with 701 (91%) resolved and 72 (9%) still being handled.
"There are some problems we cannot solve if they go against the constitution or the law.
"For example, if someone asks to convert Malay reserve land, it cannot be done, even if they meet me with high hopes. Such matters must follow the law," he said.
He added that while some people left satisfied after their issues were solved, some were disappointed.
"I apologise because I cannot fulfil matters that are beyond my authority," he added.
