Kajang toll crash: Lorry driver says he jumped out of vehicle before collision

KAJANG: The driver behind the wheel of the lorry that crashed into three vehicles says he jumped out of the vehicle before the collision.

"The driver said he jumped out from the lorry," said Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Naazron Abdul Yusof.

He also said the driver claimed the lorry was experiencing brake issues, adding that the vehicle would be sent for a full inspection.

ACP Naazron said checks showed the lorry was last serviced in April.

"He has been remanded for two days and we will obtain statements from five people, including the owner of the lorry," he said.

On Saturday (Sept 27), an accident occurred at the Bukit Kajang toll plaza involving four vehicles.

A 16-month-old baby died and seven others were injured.
