Lorry driver crushed by logs in freak accident


KUALA BERANG: A lorry driver has been crushed to death by logs while working at a logging site in Kampung Kemat, here.

Hulu Terengganu OCPD Supt Sharudin Abdul Wahab said the victim, Mohamad Naim Muhamad Afandi, 34, was found unconscious at 3.48pm on Wednesday (Sept 24).

He said police received information about the incident from the victim's colleague, Yaki Sidi, 37, who was at the site when the accident happened.

"Initial investigations found that the victim, who was from Kampung Kelubi Puteh, Jerteh, Besut, was crushed by logs while logging work was underway," he told Bernama when contacted on Wednesday.

Sharudin said the body was taken to the Hulu Terengganu Hospital for a post-mortem.

"For now, the case has been classified as sudden death," he said. – Bernama
