Protect, not punish victims of statutory rape, says Nancy

PETALING JAYA: Children involved in statutory rape cases – regardless of gender – should be guided, rehabilitated and protected instead of being punished, says Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.

The Women, Family and Community Development Minister said in a statement on Wednesday (Sept 24) that all children, regardless of gender, must be given the opportunity to learn from mistakes and rebuild their lives without the burden of stigma or long-term trauma.
