PAS Muktamar opens in Kedah with leaders and allies in attendance


ALOR SETAR: The 71st PAS Muktamar (general assembly) has begun following the conclusion of its wing and council assemblies.

The assembly commenced with the arrival of PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang and spiritual leader Datuk Hashim Jasin at about 9am on Monday (September 15).

Earlier, Abdul Hadi inspected a guard of honour by PAS Jabatan Amal Malaysia at the Kedah PAS Complex at about 8.30am.

Among those present were PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, PAS Ulama chief Datuk Ahmad Yahaya, and Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Muhamad Sanusi Md Nor.

Deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, Terengganu Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, and PAS central committee member Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim also attended.

Leaders from Perikatan Nasional component party Bersatu, including president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and secretary-general Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, were also seen at the event.

Abdul Hadi is expected to deliver his keynote speech at the event, held at Datuk Haji Fadzil Mohd Hall at the Kedah PAS Complex.
