HR Ministry to roll out 10 ‘game changer’ initiatives under 13MP

KUALA LUMPUR: The Human Resource Ministry will implement 10 game-changer initiatives under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) to address the changing labour market landscape.

In a statement on Wednesday (Sept 10), the ministry said this is to ensure the national workforce is ready to face challenges brought about by artificial intelligence and automation, demographic changes, geopolitical uncertainties and the transition to a green and gig economy.

"As part of efforts to gather direct feedback from various quarters, this engagement session brought together over 1,000 participants representing ministries, government agencies, statutory bodies, private firms, academia, the e-hailing sector, non-governmental organisations and banking associations,” it said.

The statement was issued following the ministry’s Budget 2026 Engagement Session officiated by Human Resource Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong, which was also attended by Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Mohamad and senior officials.

The ministry said the engagement session reflects the Madani Government’s inclusive approach in formulating a people-centric budget.

It added that Budget 2026 is the first national budget under the 13MP, which is anchored on three pillars, namely raising the ceiling, raising the floor and good governance. - Bernama
