Police seek public help in search for missing Air Force member


SERDANG: The police are looking for a 27-year-old Air Force personnel who has been missing for more than a week.

Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Muhamad Farid Ahmad said that the missing man, Muhammad Ammar Mohd Ariffin, was undergoing a transport vehicle supervising course.

"He was last seen at Sungai Kedondong in Batang Kali after swimming in the river with his three friends, who are also Air Force personnel, at about 4.30pm on Aug 23.

"His roommate from the course tried to contact him at about 6pm on Aug 24, but his mobile phone was switched off," he said in a statement on Monday (Sept 1).

He said an Air Force personnel lodged a missing person report Aug 25 after the victim did not turn up for the course at the Material Management Training Institute (Insmat) in Bandar Kinrara.

"We are investigating the missing person case.

"We urge those with information on the victim to contact investigating officer Insp Mohd Sukri Che Mat at 03-80762222 or 03-80713136," he said.
