Another weak earthquake detected near Batu Pahat in Johor


PETALING JAYA: Another weak earthquake has been detected near Batu Pahat in Johor on Sunday (Aug 31).

According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department's monitoring site, mygempa.met.gov.my, the magnitude 2.9 tremor was detected at 1.57pm.

The earthquake occurred approximately 25km west of Batu Pahat in the Straits of Melaka, at a depth of 10km.

This latest incident is the seventh to hit Johor after six series of tremors occurred in the Segamat district.
