Ministry’s budget to target anti-bullying, digital education and TVET

KUALA LUMPUR: Developing an anti-bullying framework in educational institutions, strengthening digital education, and enhancing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) are among the main focuses of the Education Ministry in Budget 2026.

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek (pic) said that, in addition, emphasis will be given to empowering preschools and raising the potential of students with special educational needs.

She said these priorities were shaped through dialogue and consultation sessions with various stakeholders in the education sector, Bernama reported.

“In the context of education, this budget is critical because it is closely tied to the implementation of several important agendas by the ministry, including the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2026-2035 and the New School Curriculum 2027,” she said in a Facebook post yesterday.

Fadhlina also spoke about her recent discussion with Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, which she described as an opportunity to thoroughly examine education-related budget initiatives.

“Budget 2026, which is the fourth in the Madani Budget series, focuses on restoring fiscal resilience, strengthening economic fundamentals, and raising the people’s standard of living. These efforts are guided by the Madani Economic Framework.

“My highest appreciation and gratitude go to the Finance Minister II and his team for their consideration. We look forward to Budget 2026,” she said.

According to the Parliamentary calendar, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the Finance Minister, is scheduled to table the Supply (Budget) Bill 2026 at 4pm in the Dewan Rakyat on Oct 10.
