Aminuddin replaces Rafizi in Dewan Rakyat Committee of Selection


KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun will replace Pandan MP Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli as a member of the Dewan Rakyat’s Committee of Selection.

The motion for the appointment of Aminuddin (PH-Port Dickson) to the committee was tabled by Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) M. Kulasegaran.

The motion was approved with a voice vote by the House.

The appointment of Aminuddin, who is also Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar, will be in effect for the remainder of the 15th Parliament session.

The Committee of Selection consists of the Dewan Rakyat Speaker as the Chairman and six members of the House elected by the House.

The committee's role is to appoint MPs to the several Parliamentary Special Select Committees (PSSC).

The committee for the 15th Parliament is chaired by Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul and consists of MPs Anthony Loke (PH-Seremban), Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said(PN-Pengerang), Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin (PN-Larut) and Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan (PN-Kota Baru).
