Police seize over 20kg of ganja, arrest three suspected drug pushers in Kajang

KAJANG: Police have seized over 20kg of ganja and other drugs after arresting three suspected drug pushers.

At a press conference on Wednesday (Aug 27) at the district police headquarters, Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Naazron Abdul Yusof said the three were arrested on August 21 during a series of raids in Kajang and Petaling Jaya.

The first raid saw the arrest of a couple aged 34 and 32 at a house in Kajang.

“Checks led to the discovery of four packages of suspected ganja,” he said.

The duo confessed they had received the drugs from another person.

Follow-up investigations led to the arrest of a third suspect, aged 34.

“The police were then led to a house in Petaling Jaya where they discovered 22,218g of ganja, 3,350g of ecstasy pills, 267g of MDMA powder, and 34g of ketamine,” he said.

In total, police seized about 25.87kg of drugs from all raids, worth RM756,560.

All suspects tested positive for drugs.

He added that police have yet to determine how long the trio had been active, as none had a prior police record.

It is believed the last suspect was part of a much larger syndicate.

“The female suspect has since been released and will act as a prosecution witness. The remaining two suspects have been charged in court,” he said
