Transport Ministry criticised over year-long water leakage at Sandakan Airport

KOTA KINABALU: A Sabah lawmaker has taken the Transport Ministry to task over a water leakage problem at the Sandakan Airport, which has reportedly persisted for over a year.

Beluran MP Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee posted on social media a photo showing pails being used to contain dripping water at a section of the airport, questioning why the Transport Ministry has not fixed this issue.

“Sandakan Airport, state of Sabah, country Malaysia.

“Leaking almost a year. No action taken. Is it so difficult to repair?” he wrote, adding they would rather put buckets to catch the water leaks, which would then spill over onto the floor.

Kiandee also said the situation was utterly embarrassing.

Sandakan Airport caters to domestic flights from places including Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Tawau and Kudat.
