Families urge Thailand to transfer Malaysian burn victims

BANGKOK: The families of two Malaysian tourists who were set on fire here last week have requested that Thai authorities allow them to be transferred to Malaysia as soon as they are medically fit.

The two, identified as Gan Xiao Zhen, 27, and boyfriend Ong Yik Leong, 26, were attacked by a jobless man who allegedly splashed thinner before setting them on fire near a shopping mall at Ratchadamri Road on Thursday night.
