Over 200 vehicles seized for various offences during Ops Luxury 3


PETALING JAYA: A total of 258 vehicles were seized during a series of operations by the Road Transport Department as part of Ops Luxury 3.0.

Of them, Kuala Lumpur recorded the highest number of vehicles seized, with 93, followed by Selangor (61) and Penang (28).

The operation was conducted from Aug 7 to 9, nationwide.

In a statement on Sunday (Aug 10), the department said that among the most common offences recorded are failure to produce a valid car licence, driving without car insurance and driving with an expired licence.

In total, the department issued 627 notices during the three-day operation. 

"All cars that were seized according to the Road Transport Act 1987 and related laws," it said.
