Manhunt for machete-wielding men after fight in Brickfield leaves two hospitalised

KUALA LUMPUR: A manhunt is on for two machete-wielding men who attacked two people in Brickfields here.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood said that the four had got into a fight outside an entertainment outlet along Jalan Tun Sambanthan around 2.15am.

"Witnesses saw the first victim arguing with one of the suspects along the road there. Then a second suspect attacked both victims with a machete and a piece of metal.

"Both victims suffered injuries and have been brought to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for treatment," he said.

Two men, aged 33 and 47, were treated at the hospital's yellow and green zones.

Several items used during the attack have been seized.

"The suspects fled the scene after the attack. We believe they are in their thirties," he said.

He added that investigations are underway and urged the suspects to surrender themselves to the police.

A video of the attack has been uploaded on social media, with both victims seen being pursued and beaten by two men, including one that had been wearing a motorcycle helmet.
