KLANG: The bodies of a 41-year-old local woman and her three-year-old daughter were recovered in waters off Pulau Ketam.

South Klang deputy OCPD Supt Kamalariffin Aman Shah said a local man spotted a child floating motionless in the sea at about 7.30am on Wednesday (Aug 6).

"With the help of several members of the public, the man managed to retrieve the child and bring her ashore.

"However, medical personnel who arrived at the scene later confirmed that the child had died," he said in a statement on Wednesday.

Shortly after, the body of the 41-year-old woman was found floating nearby, he said.

"She too was brought ashore but was pronounced dead by medical personnel on-site.
