Mohd Asna appointed Negri Sembilan Deputy Speaker

SEREMBAN: Lenggeng assemblyman Datuk Mohd Asna Amin has been appointed Deputy Speaker of the Negri Sembilan Legislative Assembly.

His nomination was proposed by Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun during the state assembly sitting on Monday (Aug 4).

The motion was seconded by Senior State Executive Councillor and Pertang assemblyman Datuk Seri Jamaluddin Alias.

Mohd Asna, who serves as Seremban Umno vice-chief, is a first-term assemblyman.

The Deputy Speaker’s post had remained vacant since the last state election in August 2023.

It was previously held by former Sri Tanjung assemblyman Datuk M. Ravi.

The state assembly previously did not have a Deputy Speaker.
