July 26 rally: Hundreds gather near Sogo


KUALA LUMPUR: Hundreds of protesters are seen gathering near Sogo shopping mall, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman.

As of 12.34pm, the largest crowd seemed to be centred near the shopping mall compared to other gathering points for the protesters.

Besides Sogo, protesters are gathering at other areas, including Pasar Seni, Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad, Masjid Negara and Kampung Baru before converging to Dataran Merdeka.

At Sogo, several individuals, including PAS's Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan were seen speaking to the crowd.

Protesters are heard shouting several things, including "Turun Anwar" and "Hidup Rakyat".

Some of the protesters were believed to be from outside the Klang Valley. Many people were seen sitting by the roadside at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman and Jalan Dang Wangi.

Several road diversions were also seen leading to the city centre, including exits of the Akleh expressway.
