Charging of suspect in Cyberjaya student murder case delayed, say cops


CYBERJAYA: A suspect in the murder of a 20-year-old university student will be charged at a later date, according to police. 

Sepang OCPD Assistant Commissioner Norhizam Bahaman confirmed that the suspect, who was expected to be charged on Tuesday (July 8), would now have their charges postponed. 

“For your information, the charges will be delayed until tomorrow,” he stated.

It was previously reported that the victim, a Bachelor of Physiotherapy student, was found dead in a student's hostel in Cyberjaya.

The victim, who was from Kuching, Sarawak, was found unconscious with visible injuries on her body by her friend at about 10am on Tuesday (June 24). The friend then immediately alerted the police.

She was staying with five other students who had gone home for the holidays on 21 June, leaving her alone at the hostel as she was due to sit for an upcoming exam.
