LUMUT: Information on key government policies must be disseminated to Madani Communities within 24 hours of their announcement, the Information Department was told.

Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil (pic) said the move is crucial to ensure the communities receive accurate and verified information promptly.

“The task I have given to the Information Department is to ensure that Madani Communities become the first group to receive accurate information on any announced policy.

“It is a heavy responsibility, but this is our role moving forward,” he said at an event yesterday, Bernama reported.

Madani Community is a multiracial volunteer body managed by the Information Department to instil good values and love for the country among the people.

There are 1,878 Madani Communities, whose responsibility is also to channel verified government information and initiatives swiftly to the grassroots.
