Dr Wan Azizah visits Gerik bus crash victims at Taiping Hospital

TAIPING: Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has paid a visit to four of the injured victims of the tragic Gerik bus crash incident at Taiping Hospital on Friday (June 13).

The wife of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim arrived at 10.25am and was accompanied by the Perak Mentri Besar's wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubin, Taiping Hospital director Dr Khuzaini Abd Karim and hospital staff members.

During her visit, Dr Wan Azizah met the victims who are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

The victims are Nur Liyana Zanudin, 23, Fakhira Asmalia Zulkifli, 22, Nurul Nadia Abdul Zamid, 21 and Tuan Muhammad Adham Tuan Adnan, 21.

She also extended monetary assistance to the victims, but the amount was not disclosed.

On June 9, 15 UPSI students were killed when their chartered bus, travelling from Jertih, Terengganu, to the university's main campus in Tanjung Malim, Perak, overturned in a collision with an MPV.

The crash also injured 33 others, including the bus driver and attendant, as well as the driver and three passengers of the MPV.
