Man detained for stealing bag from unlocked car in Kajang


KAJANG: A 42-year-old man has been detained for allegedly stealing a bag from an unlocked car here.

A video showing a man dressed in black and wearing a helmet stealing the bag has gone viral on TikTok since May 21.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Naazron Abdul Yusof said the investigation led police to arrest the suspect in Bangi at about 5.18pm on May 23.

"We seized the suspect's motorcycle and the clothing he wore during the theft. The suspect has a prior criminal record for two offences," he said in a statement on Saturday (May 24).

The suspect has been remanded until Monday (May 26), he added.

"We are investigating under Section 379 of the Penal Code. We urge the victim or those with information on the case to contact Sjn Norhafizah Mat Yusof at 011-54539190 to assist with the investigation," he said.
