PKR polls: Results for Wanita, Youth wing polls on May 24

JOHOR BARU: The official results for PKR's Wanita and Youth wings will be announced on Saturday (May 24), says its information chief Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

He said results would likely be known by Friday (May 23) night but would only be officially announced the next day.

"We will have the unofficial results by around 9pm tonight (May 23) and will be informing the candidates involved.

"However, official results will only be announced at about 2.30pm on Saturday (May 24) after the party's central leadership council meeting.

"The outgoing leadership line-up will step down from the stage and the new leadership will take their place after the announcement," he told a press conference on the sidelines of the PKR Wanita congress here.

Fahmi said he had been monitoring the election process closely.

"I have not been informed of any major issues, including in Internet connectivity.

"We have two physical voting centres in Johor, one in Danga Bay and the other at Berjaya Waterfront and there have been no problems at either location.

"As for Kota Kinabalu and Kuching, I'm still waiting for reports," he said.

He also advised delegates to follow voting times according to state to avoid congestion.

At 8am earlier, PKR kicked off its Wanita and Youth wings' elections using a new digital voting system which uses facial recognition technology.

A total of 32,030 delegates are eligible to vote in the 2025-2028 party polls, with 9,029 voting physically and the rest online.

PKR election committee chairman Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa said there are 251 candidates contesting 75 positions across the central leadership, Youth and Wanita councils.

There are 104 candidates for the central leadership, 85 for the youth wing and 62 for the women's wing.
