MACC to scrutinise report and documents submitted on MyKiosk 2.0 project

PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will scrutinise documents submitted and the report lodged over the MyKiosk 2.0 project, says Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.

"We have a report lodged by MCA yesterday (May 21) and earlier today (May 22) the Housing and Local Government Ministry submitted some documents. I give my assurance we will investigate," he said at the MACC headquarters here on Thursday.

"What has been reported to us is based on social media. We need to verify it first and not jump to conclusions. We need to be fair to all sides," he said, adding that no investigation paper had been opened yet.

On Tuesday (May 20), Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming said he would welcome the MACC to "have tea" at the ministry over the MyKiosk 2.0 project, which has faced scrutiny over its cost, site selection, among other details.

Nga also said his ministry is prepared to take action against those spreading disinformation on social media.
