KUALA LUMPUR: They cater exclusively to South Asians, providing Bollywood-style dances and shows.
But it all came to a stop yesterday when Immigration officers raided the entertainment centre at 12.45am and arrested 10 illegal immigrants.
Kuala Lumpur Immigration director Wan Mohamed Saupee Wan Yusoff said eight men and two women from Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan were caught during Op Gegar.
Wan Mohamed Saupee said the individuals, in their 20s to 40s, were employees and customers.
“The entertainment centre was tightly guarded at the entrance and catered exclusively to customers from South Asian countries,” he told reporters after the operation.
The department also arrested 25 foreigners, including two children, in an Op Selera raid on three restaurants in the federal capital, Bernama reported.
They comprised 18 men and seven women from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Thailand and Indonesia, aged five to 60.
Wan Mohamed Saupee said all the foreigners arrested in the two raids were taken to the Bukit Jalil Immigration Depot for documentation and further investigation.
