Man killed, another badly hurt in Muar accident


MUAR: A local man was killed and another suffered severe injuries following an accident involving two motorcycles.

Muar OCPD Asst Comm Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz said the incident happened at Parit Amat, Jalan Temenggong Ahmad near here on Wednesday (May 14) at 8.15am.

Initial investigation showed the 27-year-old rider was riding his motorcycle on the main road from Parit Bakar heading towards Parit Jawa.

“The 56-year-old victim abruptly exited the intersection of Simpang Parit Amat Darat causing the two motorcycles to collide," ACP Raiz Mihkliz said in a statement.

He said the victim, a local man, was pronounced dead on the scene while the 27-year-old rider, also a local man, is currently being treated at the Red Zone of Muar Hospital.

ACP Raiz Mukhliz called upon witnesses of the incident to contact the investigating officer Insp Noor Khairun Izham Noor Yusry at 013-9121508 or come forward to the Muar Police Traffic to assist with investigation.
